IHS trackster Dashana Ransome is county champ

Dashana Ransome captured the girls’ 55-meter hurdles to lead the Irvington High School indoor track and field teams at the Essex County Championships last Sunday at Seton Hall University in South Orange.
The IHS girls’ team finished fourth overall in the girls’ team standings among the 18 scoring teams based on top-six finishes in the events. Newark Tech won the girls’ team crown.
Dashana’s sister, Denesha, took second in the 55-meter dash and sixth in the 200-meter dash.
On the boys’ side, IHS finished eighth overall among the 18 scoring teams.
