Robert Bruton
Robert Bruton of Irvington, 81, died Jan. 24. He is survived by his
children, Barbara Ferebee, Cynthia and Lamont Bruton; aunt, Dora
Bruton; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Katherine DiProfio
Katherine Ann DiProfio, 85, of Irvington died Jan. 27 in Overlook
Hospital, Summit. Born in Newark, Mrs. DiProfio lived in Irvington
for the past 51 years. She was employed as a payroll supervisor
with Airco Products in Warren for 40 years, retiring in 1985. Mrs.
DiProfio was predeceased by her husband, Frank. She is survived by
her niece and nephew, Joanne and Peter Alexander, and many other
relatives.
Joseph N. Turiello, Jr.
Joseph N. Turiello, Jr., 78, died Jan. 29 in New York University
Hospital. Mr. Turiello was an English teacher in Irvington High
School for many years, then served as an administrator for the
Board of Education in Irvington. He was an associate professor of
English for Union County College in Cranford until 2009. He was a
member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5503 and the American
Legion Post 328, both of Clark. He was a Eucharistic minister and a
member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. John The Apostle
Church. He also played the piano for several bands and in an
18-piece orchestra. Mr. Turiello is survived by his wife of 52
years, Rae, nee Imposimato; children, Mary Jo Baker and Joseph
Turiello; siblings, Elizabeth Spanara and Ronald Turiello; and
three grandchildren.
Evelyn Heir Wald
Evelyn Heir Wald, 82, died Jan. 29 at St. Peter’s University
Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Wald resided in
Elizabeth before moving to Monroe Township eight years ago. She was
a teacher for the Irvington public school system for 46 years
before retiring in 1990. Mrs. Wald was predeceased by her first
husband, Philip Schwartz. She is survived by her husband of 20
years, Milton Wald; stepsons, Brian and Jeffrey Wald; five
grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
